Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle adds new playable characters and more details on Wall Reclamation Mode
Koei Tecmo has published a new batch of screenshots and artworks for Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle, confirming the identity of the five new playable characters from the anime's Season 3 that will be added to the roster. They are as follows:
- Kenny Ackerman
- Traute Caven
- Zeke Yeager
- Nifa
- Floch Forster
A new interview with producer Hideo Suzuki and director Kotaro Hirata at the latest Weekly Famitsu magazine issue also divulged more details on the Wall Reclamation mode. In this mode, the player will start by selecting one of the available playable characters - including the self-created avatar - as the leader of a new group which starts with no members.
Characters can be recruited by encountering them during battles or scouting through a camp facility. When a certain combination of characters has joined the group, special dialogue events between them will occur. Some of these dialogues feature unique interactions that would have never occurred in the original work, such as Zeke and Levi, or Erwin and Kenny.
Players will be able to customize their own group in this mode, from setting the group name to even changing the emblem which will be reflected on the members' jackets. Some examples of images that can be set as the emblem range from Historia's silhouette to a meat icon. Facilities in the camp can also be upgraded to expand the exploration range or to allow scouting more characters.
As players progress through this mode and reclaim more areas, soldiers in the camp will turn from being pessimistic to eventually become more optimistic. Once the reclaim rate has reached 100%, the mode's ending scene will play.
Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle will be released for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on July 5.
