Borderlands 3 gets stylish new "We Are Mayhem" trailer at Microsoft's E3 2019 conference
Earlier today at Microsoft's E3 2019 conference, 2K and Gearbox Software released a new trailer for Borderlands 3 titled, "We Are Mayhem." It introduced four new vault hunters in Borderlands 3, which includes a colorful cast of characters who are ready to shoot and loot...shloot? Anyway, explosions are everywhere and are paired with exciting music and incredibly stylish visuals. Also, Claptrap.
The series hasn't had the best press as of late, with the studio's president and CEO Randy Pitchford coming under fire for tweeting out videos depicting animal abuse and Chris Hardwick appearing in Borderlands 3 despite abuse allegations, among other controversies. Still, the hard work of the developers in creating this fun trailer is clear, and it's worth a watch.
The trailer announces the existence of a new Borderlands 2 DLC titled, "Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary.” It's intended to bridge the gap between Borderlands 2, which was released in 2012, and Borderlands 3. The description for the DLC on Steam reads:
Return to the award-winning shooter-looter for an all-new adventure that sets the stage for the upcoming Borderlands 3. Sanctuary is under siege, the Vault Map has been stolen, and a toxic gas is poisoning Pandora. Battle new bosses, explore new areas, collect new loot (including an entirely new tier beyond Legendary), and join up with Lilith and the Crimson Raiders to take on a deranged villain hell-bent on ruling the planet. Returning players can pursue an increased level cap of 80, while newcomers can automatically boost to level 30 and dive straight into the action.
It's currently available and is free for those who already own Borderlands 2 or Borderlands: The Handsome Collection until July 8. Borderlands 3 will launch for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on Sept. 13, 2019. You can watch the trailer below.
