SaGa Scarlet Grace: Ambitions and Romancing SaGa 3 remaster coming West
Tonight during Square Enix's E3 2019 event, Square Enix released a combination trailer announcing English localizations for two SaGa series titles. While we didn't get a release date for either title, the trailer states they are "coming soon".
SaGa Scarlet Grace: Ambitions
SaGa Scarlet Grace: Ambitions finally got its official localization announcement. While SaGa series' boss Akitoshi Kawazu has repeatedly indicated plans to release the game in English, it had not been officially announced until now. The game will release on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and mobile devices.
SaGa Scarlet Grace originally released on PlayStation Vita in Japan in 2016. SaGa Scarlet Grace: Ambitions is an enhanced re-release for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, mobile, and Steam that supports 60FPS and added new characters, new background music, voice work, skills/formations, bosses several new events & side quests to partake in.
Here's Square Enix's press release:
SQUARE ENIX also announced SaGa SCARLET GRACE: AMBITIONS, an enhanced version of SaGa SCARLET GRACE, which originally released only in Japan in 2016. Newcomers and long-time fans of the franchise can shape their own adventures with one of four protagonists, Urpina, Taria, Balmant, and Leonard, each with their own unique storyline, allowing players to enjoy four different RPGs in one title.
With its first Western release, AMBITIONS builds upon the original Japanese release with a variety of improvements and additions to the original, including new and improved graphics, character voiceovers, weapons, skills and more. In addition, players will have access to more than 70 allies to potentially add to their party and test out different battle strategies with the new turn-based timeline system as they conquer new scenarios, monsters and bosses on their journey.
Romancing SaGa 3
Additionally, a remastered version of Romancing SaGa 3 was also officially revealed for a Western release. The game was already expected to get a localization based on previous comments back in 2017, but it's certainly nice to get another reconfirmation. The game will release on: PlayStation Vita, iOS/Android smartphones, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows 10, and Steam.
Romancing SaGa 3 originally released on Super Famicom in 1995 and that version never received an English release.
