Mass Effect 3 listed on the official EA Store
What was that bang you just heard? It may have been the sound of a massive cat dropping out of a massive bag. Mass Effect 3, one of gaming's most obvious unannounced upcoming sequels (right next to Uncharted 3), has been spotted on EA's official online store. It's been listed for PS3, 360 and PC, as expected.
The leak has happened a mere day before the Video Game Awards 2010 kick off over in Los Angeles, where Bioware were promising to debut a new title. Teases released by Bioware pointed towards Mass Effect, and, strangely, London. Most notably, the teaser seemed to point towards the headquarters of the Security Services - otherwise known as MI6. Based on the plot synopsis from EA's shop listing before they pulled it down, that makes an awful lot of sense. Here it is:
"Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth."
The Video Game Awards air tomorrow on Spike TV in the US, and illicit streams will likely be available online for those of you in Europe. We'll bring you all the proper RPG announcements from the show throughout the night, of course, so stick with us. (Are we hinting at more than one RPG? Maybe...)
