Dragon Age 2 Combat Walkthrough
One of the big selling points for PC gamers when it came to making their decision to avoid the console iterations of the original Dragon Age was the inclusion of the classic "top-down" camera view that made the company's past games like Baldur's Gate so beloved for their great reputation as a thinking man's action RPG. Being able to pause combat in the middle of gameplay to micromanage your characters, whether it was to lay down traps or take aim at an unexpected combatant.
Imagine the surprise of many a PC gamer when they out that the feature would be removed from Dragon Age 2 in favor of a more balanced experience across all platforms.
There was plenty of backlash, to be sure, but in comes BioWare with their latest video for their upcoming sequel to help explain the game's combat features. Not only will players be able to hack and slash their way waist-deep into some pretty intense battles of varying scale, but they will also be able to pause the combat and make tactical decision with a pulled-back camera view that includes far more decisions to be made in this mode.
Take a look at the video below (with its fancy if not ominous lighting), and let us know what you think about the changes to the gameplay. Dragon Age 2 is set to be released this March on the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 game platforms.
