Square's 1st Production Department Premiere Detailed
Last week we brought you news that Square-Enix had renamed its upcoming Fabula Nova Crystallis event to something with more of a broad scope. This week, we now know of what titles we can expect to be on display for, hopefully, the world to see.
Speaking in an interview with Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation, character designer and director Tetsuya Nomura shed some light on various things regarding the January 18th event.
Nomura cites the reason they delayed the show by a week was due to magazine release timing. It was also initially going to be more geared toward the mass media, but has since become a premium event for the fans, similar to what Square-Enix has done in the past.
The premiere will be shown twice that day, as the Toho Cinemas theater in Roppongi Hills can accommodate 150 people at a time.
Development staff for each title will also be on hand at the event. Nomura says that Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be there, along with the debut of Noctis's Japanese voice casting, as well as actual game footage. Nomura does note though, that this footage is older, and was cut before the game was given a visual quality boost.
Other titles to appear will be Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts 3D, and director Hajime Tabata has confirmed that Final Fantasy Agito XIII will be there as well.
Speaking separately to Famitsu magazine, Nomura also confirmed Dissidia 012 duodecim Final Fantasy will appear, complete with a surprise announcement related to the title.
Those who live in Japan can now register to attend the showing through the Japanese Square-Enix Members registration site here. Only 300 people will be chosen for the two scheduled showings. Square will also be streaming the second screening live on Nico Nico video, although only 10,000 viewers will be allowed, also drawn from the Members Site lottery.
With less than a month until the premiere, be sure to check back with us for continuing coverage.
