Final Fantasy XIII-2 Announced - First Screenshot & Logo Released
Square Enix has confirmed Final Fantasy XIII-2 at its First Production Department Premiere over in Japan, and Square Enix Europe has now backed that up with a Press Release of their own, as well as some lovely high-quality assets in ther form of the logo and a first screenshot of a CGI-Lightning from the trailer.
While the trailer itself hasn't been released, you can check those out below. Yoshinori Kitase revealed that the game will launch in 2011 in Japan when it was revealed, and Square Enix USA have gone on to state that it'll arrive in the West "next Winter" - we presume they mean this coming Winter, which will peg the game for a release sometime between November 2011 and March 2012.
The official website is now open, on the domain name that we reported Square Enix had registered last week.
The Press Release boasts that Final Fantasy XIII-2 is aiming to have content that "exceeds Final Fantasy XIII in every aspect", going on to cite "a brand new story which stems from the previous title as well as a battle system which has evolved" -- and teases there'll be more announcements on features for the game to come.
Check out the shot and logo below in the meantime.
