Tales of Crestoria delayed to 2020
Bandai Namco has announced that free-to-play mobile RPG Tales of Crestoria has been pushed back to 2020. A message from producer Tonami Togawa has been shared on the game's official website and we've shared the video and message in full below.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support of Tales of Crestoria. We have an important announcement for everyone looking forward to the game.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to release the Japanese and English versions of Tales of Crestoria during 2019 as we previously announced. We are deeply sorry to have to share this news, especially for people who have been waiting so long for an update on the release date.
One of our goals with this game is to create a Tales series title for mobile that anyone can pick up and enjoy. For that reason, we are requesting some time to focus on quality improvements.
We also have an update on the current state of development. We plan to release the main story fully voiced so that everyone can enjoy Crestoria’s brand new story through the voices of the main characters. *Voices will be in Japanese.
We are also expanding the main characters’ breadth of emotions within the story so that they can express themselves even more fully. Plus, we will be adding unique illustrated cut-ins to better highlight the drama in their story. There are too many other small details to list, but we are in the process of improving them all.
Our next update on the development will be in December 2019. Specifically, we plan to share an update on release, in-game features, and a sneak preview of the opening movie.
The development team, including myself, will continue to work hard to deliver the best possible game to all the fans who have waited so excitedly for it. Once again, we offer our sincerest thanks for your support for Tales of Crestoria.
The official website has also updated with two new NPC characters, Machina and Kasque - also shown in the above video, and some information on the series staple attachment items. You can find screenshots and artwork below.
Tales of Crestoria is set for a 2020 release worldwide, but no release date has been announced. You can check out a turn-based gameplay tutorial and mystic artes exhibition here.
