Square Enix, Nippon Ichi donate to Quake Relief

Square Enix Japan and Nippon Ichi Software have both contributed funds to the Japanese Quake and Tsunami Relief in a variety of ways to try and help those suffering in Japan.

You probably don't need us to recap what happened, but Japan has been going through one of the most trying periods in its short history right now thanks to a combination of a large number of Earthquakes, a Tsunami and problems with their Nuclear Power Plants. We issued a call for any of our readers to help if they could earlier this week.

Square Enix have donated 100 million Yen (around 1.2 million US) to the Quake Relief Fund from their savings, while the company will also be collecting donations from its employees around the world from all of its various studios.

Final Fantasy XIV's Currency, Crysta, can also be donated. If you've money sitting in your account from waiting to be charged for Final Fantasy XIV's subscription, now it can be donated directly to the Quake Relief via the Square Enix account page. Taito are conserving energy at Arcades they own in Japan to help, also.

Nippon Ichi, meanwhile, have announced that all the revenue from new Disgaea 4 Downloadable Content will be put to victims of the quake in the name of the fans.

Capcom, Sony, Nintendo, SEGA and Namco Bandai have all put in place similar schemes or donated large amounts of money to the quake fund. Do remember that you can do the same via the links in this article.
