Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy coming this Winter to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam
Koei Tecmo and Gust have officially revealed Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy, which will be released this Winter worldwide for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
After an early sighting at the Australian Classification Board last week, this confirms that Reisalin "Ryza" Stout is the second Atelier series character to receive a direct sequel named after herself; the first such occurrence was the Atelier Iris trilogy on PS2. However, Ryza has indeed become the first character in the metaseries to retain the titular protagonist spot in a sequel.
The announcement for Atelier Ryza 2 was first shown at the Japanese Nintendo Direct mini, and you can find the trailer right below. According to the trailer, this game's story will take place 3 years after its predecessor. There will be more exploration actions available such as climbing ropes, swimming underwater, and riding monsters. Ryza's friend Klaudia Valentz is also confirmed returning and will help again in battles.
Koei Tecmo has also put up teaser sites in North America, Europe, and Japan. These sites will be unveiled simultaneously worldwide on July 29, 08:00 PDT, 16:00 BST, and July 30 at midnight in Japan time (UTC+9).
