Persona 3 Portable: Mamoru (Star) social link choices guide

Exclusive to the male protagonist’s story, the Persona 3 Portable Mamoru Hayase social link is the Star Arcana S-Link players can foster a relationship with.

Much like other S-Links in the game, there are two main benefits to ranking up Mamoru’s S-Link. From a gameplay perspective, you’ll be granted the Car Key item that will enable the ability to fuse the Persona Helel, but you’ll also have access to Mamoru’s own personal story - a fairly important benefit for a JRPG. This guide will help you through the right choices to more easily navigate his S-Link.

Mamoru Hayase S-Link Guide - Star

The Mamoru Social Link is the male lead's Star social link in Persona 3 Portable. Here's what to say to rank up the S-Link fast.

Unlike the female protagonist’s Star Arcana link - that being the Akihiko Sanada social link - the original male protagonist’s version of Persona 3 Portable Mamoru Hayase Star social link deals with a young man striving to be the best athlete he can be in order to better support his struggling family.

This guide is optimized for Persona 3 Portable, and will also work okay for P3 FES. However, if you're playing the newest remake, we recommend you skip over to our Persona 3 Reload Mamoru guide instead - it'll be more accurate.

After you’ve started his S-Link, like most other characters you’ll be progressing your relationship with him by, naturally, spending time with him. Certain dialogue options during rank-up events will grant the player additional ‘EXP’ that will increase the hidden stat that determines when you’ll next be able to unlock an S-Link rank. This guide will point you to which dialogue options offer these bonuses, and which of the answers are the best pick to minimize the time spent on his S-Link.

Before all that, just a few words of warning. If we don’t have a dialogue option listed below, that means that either none of the options offer bonus EXP, or all of them offer an equal amount. That being the case, for any question that isn’t listed feel free to answer any way that you’d like - whether it’s funny, or heartfelt, or even just something you think the main character would say. Most importantly, make sure you have a star Persona with you when spending time with Mamoru.

Mamoru is available every day except Thursday at the bench across from the bookstore in the Iwatodai strip mall during the daytime.
