Free online confirmed for the Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

The Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will have free online play, as announced during this morning's Nintendo Direct.

Up to four people will be able to get together for some co-op action. Downloadable content released for the 3DS version of the game, will also be included on disc. Players will also have the choice to play the game with the Wii U Pro controller if they wish; otherwise the GamePad will allow multiple customizations.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be available in Japan upon Wii U launch, and spring 2013 for North America and Europe.
