Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has a pretty incredible opening movie

Square Enix has released the Opening Movie to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - and it's pretty damn impressive, even by the high standards set by Square Enix's Visual Works CG studio.

The trailer depicts the end of one world and the birth of a vast new land, one that Square Enix argue is far more exciting and engrossing than the last.

In the real world, the destruction of FF14's world was made necessary by a disasterous launch for the game, a release that the company admitted left the brand greatly damaged and caused a major staff shuffle. This new world is the brainchild of Naoki Yoshida, the game's ambitious new producer.
