Ubisoft details Assassin's Creed Odyssey's December Monthly Update
Another month means another Ubisoft post about the current content roadmap for Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Last month we saw the kickoff of the 'Lost Tales of Greece' series as well as the introduction of Epic Events and new items. This month we have the title's first story DLC, Legacy of the First Blade, released just earlier this week, taking the top update slot, unsurprisingly.
In addition to the DLC story content, there's another 'Lost Tales of Greece' entry as well as new Ubisoft Club rewards and improvements to the game's photo mode.
We have the video below, as well a text overview of the updates as found on Ubisoft's blog.
LEGACY OF THE FIRST BLADE – EPISODE 1: HUNTED
Meet Darius, a mysterious Persian warrior who wielded the Assassin's iconic Hidden Blade and changed the course of history. But is he friend or foe? And what is his link to the Order of the Ancients? Discover revelations about the Assassin's Creed universe with this first episode of the Legacy of the First Blade story arc, available to Season Pass owners or purchasable separately. You'll acquire never before seen abilities and legendary equipment to battle against unrelenting Persian enemies on both land and sea, as you continue your Odyssey and become a true hero.
To play the first episode, you must complete the Naxos questline in Episode 7 of the main game, and be Level 28 or more. The remaining two episodes of Legacy of the First Blade will be released early next year, so keep your eyes open!
LOST TALES OF GREECE – THE IMAGE OF FAITH
What do you do when a village reveres you as a god? Talk to the famous sculptor, Polykleitos, in Arkadia in this third installment of Lost Tales of Greece to find out more!
To get started, make sure you're in the region of Elis. The first quest is called "The Measure of a Man", and we recommend that your minimum level is 35. But fear not, this questline will be available at all times after Episode 5.
NEW UBISOFT CLUB REWARDS
New season, new you! If you haven't already, you can now unlock the Tyrrhenian Ship design for the Adrestia with 30 Units. You'll need to connect to your Ubisoft Club account to claim it.
But that's not all! If you are a fan of Assassin's Creed Syndicate you're going to love The Rooks! This new skin makes your crew look like members of the infamous gang from Victorian London as you explore the sea.
Join the Club today for more in-game rewards.
PHOTOMODE IMPROVEMENTS
Taking amazing photos of your adventures in Greece is only getting easier with our newly improved Photo Mode! Not only did we revamp the focus tool to make your photos more pro, we also added Fog and Bloom features for you to play with.
The Fog tool will allow you to increase or reduce the fog in the surrounding, so if you're looking to add some ambience to your photo, this is the function to play around with.
The Bloom feature is best used for light sources, and will make their brilliance truly shine. The subjects near the enhanced light will also receive that extra glow, so make sure to try it out!
Itching to show off your photos? Enter them in our first ever Photo Mode Contest starting December 10th for an opportunity to win a Spartan Collector's Edition of Assassin's Creed Odyssey! The contest theme is the Aegean Sea, so get ready! Whose photo will reign supreme? We await your entries with great anticipation!
THE CELESTIAL PACK
Look hauntingly beautiful with our new Celestial Pack, which includes a gear set, a ghostly mount, and a deadly weapon. And why not get a matching ship to terrify your enemies with even more ghostliness? Get the Celestial Naval Pack, which comes with a new ship design, crew theme, and a figurehead. The Mediterranean Sea will fear your naval presence.
MASTERY LEVEL SYSTEM
Just in case you missed it, you can improve your late-game by spending Ability Points in the new Mastery Level system. Sharpen your Hunter, Warrior, and Assassin Abilities even further by increasing their stats! Read more about it here.
EXTENDED WEEKLY CONTRACTS
Get ready to change up your playstyle with recently added Weekly Contracts! You'll be challenged to use different weapons, abilities, and more to complete the newer Weekly Contracts.
For example, the "What's good for one..." contract asks you to kill 30 nasty bandits using a torch, poison, and headshots. Make them really feel the pain using these specific tactics, and receive a handsome reward.
